Now now Tex... we all know it's Husillos' fault... He is obviously going to shit in his own nest by bringing in overpriced crocks with a long sick note history, right?

Or, as they say in Scotland, "Ye ken only pish wi the dick ye've got!"

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
He is finished at any serious level of football.
If the MLS (Medical League Soccer?) has someone who will pay some of his wages , pay the rest & shift him. And buy a footballer

And there were loads of berks on here creaming their jeans when he signed.

Fuck him off - fast.

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
It’s beyond me how a club like ours with its appalling record for injuries and injury prone players thinks it can take a player with such a desperate history and turn him around.

Fucking mind boggling !!!

Wilshere Off... MLS...???
At the time it seemed like a good signing as he was fitter and playing and seemed to be over the worst of his injury problems.

Obviously it came with huge risk and was a gamble but it was a gamble that never paid off.

Some you win some you lose.

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
Sorry but it never seemed like it was going to be a good signing. He was always going to be injured. Injury prone players don't all of a sudden stay fit.

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
I think Russell has a point, I recall many on here being pleased with it, think the problem was the ludricous 3 year deal. He was our best player in the summer but clearly no longer up to it in the PL. Shame.

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
One of the worst signings in our modern history, considering he's on six figures a week and we all knew he would barely kick a ball.

Not 'thought'. We 'knew' he would be a disaster. And he has been.

The inevitability of what has happened should remind everyone that this lot genuinely don't have a clue what they are doing.

Made of glass - and was when he signed for three years. Gets injured just thinking about getting injured.

clearly the MLS hasn't watched the cunt during the last few years

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
TM: haha!

I get what you're saying - although I don't think he's a cunt. He seems like an alright bloke, as far as modern footballers are concerned. I don't have a problem with him as a person. But he should never, in a million years, have been given a three-year deal on close to 100k a week at West Ham.

No other team would touch him with a barge pole. Why did we? Because the people in charge don't know what they are doing when it comes to the transfer market.

He bit our hands off for that offer - and I don't blame him one bit. But he has been the inevitable disaster we all knew he would be.

southbankbornnbred 10:31 Fri Nov 15
Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
We should have offered him a 'pay as you play' deal - with a minimal basic salary and a big chunk of cash on a weekly basis if he is fit and available.

That way, we would not be throwing money down the drain each week.

These salaries matter now, under FFP rules, because they restrict our ability to borrow and/or invest in other wages. So every pound counts - even in this cash-rich league.

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
those three have perfected the model of handing out ridiculous contracts to players on the downturn. that's another reason why there's not more money available for buys. ALL down to them

southbankbornnbred 10:50 Fri Nov 15
Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
Yep, bang on.

They talk a good game - and then you see what they deliver and you realise that it's all just words and never action.

The only time they ever really delivered a major project at West Ham was the stadium - and many people didn't want it, for obvious reasons. That was all about increasing the total value of the club and its marketing potential - so that they can all cash in when they sell.

Which, from what I'm picking up from a number of well-placed people, could be in the next couple of years.

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
He can't do this league anymore...that is for sure

I don't blame Pell or Husillos for this one because the deal was already done and they were obliged to accept it

Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
I'm really not sure he's up to the physical demands of modern football in any competitive league.

His body has broken down over and over again. His ankles must be a mess.

I just get the impression that, like Carroll, he's had so many injuries now - and so much surgery - that he is structurally weak and will continue to break down regardless of where he goes. There are only so many times you can go under the knife and do major rehab before your body stops healing properly.

southbankbornnbred 11:02 Fri Nov 15
Re: Wilshere Off... MLS...???
What is annoying about it is how inevitable it has all been.

He seems like an alright bloke. But he's never going to be much of a player for us, because he is never fully fit. And that was the case when he joined.

He'll get shot dead outside some primary school over there in his first month
